Free | Virtual/Zoom
Speakers:

In 2021, state lawmakers required towns and cities to prepare a climate change related hazard vulnerability assessment when a Master Plan is updated. This process helps towns better understand how to prepare for extreme flooding events in an era of climate change.
Join Nick Angarone, the state’s Chief Resilience Officer and Manager of NJDEP’s Bureau of Climate Resilience Planning and Jack Heide, Community Planner with FEMA Region II, to learn why the assessment is important. They will also discuss other tools that are available to help municipalities complete the necessary analysis for these assessments including the Resilient NJ: Local Planning for Climate Change Toolkit. The toolkit guides municipalities through the process of creating this type of assessment and developing local climate resilience strategies.
This event will be 100% virtual and on Zoom. Recordings will be shared with attendees after the event.
