Introduction to Lichens: Pixie Cups and British Soldiers
Lichens are amazing organisms that come in a variety of shapes and colors. Plus they have fun common names like hammered shields, tree flutes, and star-tipped reindeer lichen. Join Assitant Director of Education, Pat Heaney, and Watershed Educator, Vicky Allen, to learn more about these interesting symbiotic life forms. We will use magnifiers to get a closer look at their structure and function, and try to identify some common species. If you have a 10x magnifying loupe, feel free to bring it.
Ages 12 and up, adult attendance and preregistration required.
