Community Watershed Advocate Program
This program is best suited for adults, ranging from high school students to retired community members.
The Watershed Institute's Community Watershed Advocate Program is a free program that trains volunteers to become effective environmental advocates on water-related environmental issues. Our 2022 programming will focus on water- related climate change issues.
There will be 4 main training sessions between January and February. The schedule will include:
- 1/12 Intro to Local Government
- 1/26 What you Need to Know About Climate Change, Water, & NJ
- 2/9 Tools Local Government Can Use to Build Resiliency
- 2/23 Development & Redevelopment
We have limited space in the 4 training sessions.
We hope to foster strong community and a network of local advocates throughout New Jersey. All training sessions and check-in meetings will be offered hybrid. This means that there will be in-person and virtual attendance options for each session. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the program coordinator: Pri Oliveira at poliveira@thewatershed.org.
