Municipalities must have a new ordinance effective July 16, 2024. NJDEP adopted the Inland Flood Protection Rules in July 2023 which require changes to municipal stormwater ordinances. As municipalities look to update its ordinances, this is a good opportunity to implement additional protections for communities with enhancements to the stormwater ordinance.
We are inviting elected officials, planning board members, municipal professionals (engineers, lawyers, and planners), and Environmental Commission members to a webinar regarding Version 2.0 of The Watershed Institute's Enhanced Model Stormwater Ordinance. TWI released the original Enhanced Model Stormwater Ordinance in 2020 after the adoption of the Green Infrastructure Rule.
Given the need to act, this webinar will provide guidance on the new stormwater ordinance, a summary of requirements, The Watershed Institute's recommendations and model to prepare stronger ordinances.
If you have any questions prior to this webinar, please feel free to contact us in advance via Pri Oliveira, our Outreach and Inclusion Manager.
This webinar is free to attend. If you are interested in CEUs there is a $25 fee. We will be applying for CLEs and CEUs for Professional Engineers.
This webinar is co-sponsored by American Littoral Society, The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, and Pinelands Preservation Alliance.
