Field Sketching at Home: Animals in Motion
Join Watershed Education Intern and freelance artist, Anna Stunkel, in this six-part class series. Register for one class or the whole series!
Field sketching is a wonderful activity to hone your skills as a naturalist while we are staying at home. Sharing your sketches and observations with others is a great way to connect and learn from each other. Courses will explore sketching various subjects including plants, landscapes, insects, birds, mammals, and animals in motion. Classes will build on subject matter that was introduced in this summer’s beginner classes. We will also discuss techniques that are helpful in the field in more depth.
Prior attendance of our introductory classes is helpful but not necessary to enjoy the experience. Please bring several sheets of paper and a pencil; colored pencils are recommended, but not required.
October 22, Animals in Motion: We will learn about techniques for drawing animals in motion while out in the field, which can be a challenge! We’ll practice doing quick gestural sketches, and talk about how to focus on characteristics that will help you to identify an animal or retain important information about its behavior.
Zoom Webinar event. Ages 15-Adult. All classes take place at 6PM EST.
