Field Sketching at Home
Join Watershed Education Intern and freelance artist, Anna Stunkel, in this four-part introduction to field sketching. We will go over some basics and explore sketching various subjects including birds, reptiles and amphibians, trees, and wildflowers. Field sketching is a wonderful activity to hone your skills as a naturalist while we are staying at home. Sharing your sketches and observations with others is a great way to connect and learn from each other.
June 11, Birds: Follow along as we sketch a variety of birds from Anna’s reference photos. We will learn how to draw birds both perched and in flight and discuss a few tips on learning about birds as we observe them in the wild.
Please bring paper and a pencil; colored pencils are recommended but not required.
Lessons will take place live via Zoom. Free program. Ages 15 to adult.
